If you want to play Aliens: Fireteam Elitebut you only have a Windows 7 PC, this guide will explain how to play Aliens: Fireteam Elite in Windows 7, let's see how.

How to play Aliens: Fireteam Elite in Windows 7

Prerequisites: Windows 7 64-bit with Windows Update, GPU and other updated drivers.

  1. Navigate to your System32 folder (for example, C: Windows System32)
  2. Find the file "xinput1_3.dll"
  3. YOU MUST COPY the file to another directory, DO NOT try renaming the file inside the System32 directory. Copy "xinput1_3.dll" from your System32 directory and paste it into a different directory (eg desktop)
  4. Rename "xinput1_3.dll" just copied to "xinput1_4.dll"
  5. Cut or copy the now renamed "xinput1_4.dll" into your System32 directory
  6. Play, enjoy!

Some notes for troubleshooting:

If unsuccessful, you may need to restart your PC after creating and copying the new .dll file. Also make sure your Windows 7 is as up to date as possible, particularly FRAMEWORK.NET. Also note that this solution will allow many other "Windows 10 only" games to run on Windows 7.
