For players of DRAGON BALL FighterZ, here is a tutorial on how to play local multiplayer in this game as it doesn't seem to work well on the PC version.

Local multiplayer DRAGON BALL FighterZ on PC

Introduction

So basically I wanted to make a guide on this because I have already seen some guides on this that were directly wrong.
This has been a problem in this game and You are never it will be fixed. The fact that this is broken in the first place confuses me, since I'm bastI'm sure this isn't a problem in any of the other ports of the game, just the PC one, which happens to be one of the most played ones, probably alongside the PC version. PlayStation.
Also, I just want to point out that this solution works and can be played online if you wish, which means that if you accidentally connect two controllers at the same time and are too lazy to restart your computer before playing the next day, then you can use this solution instead.

What is x360ce and how does it help?

To solve this problem, you will download and use basically any version of a program called x360ce.
This is a controller emulator, basically it forces the game you are playing to recognize any controller that your computer recognizes.
This means that this solution also allows you to play with arcade controllers or online joysticks, as well as with current controllers.
This may or may not be a known solution already, but I have not seen anyone talk about this.

Here is the link to the x360ce website:
https://www.x360ce.com/
Just install the latest version that is compatible with your PC, which is probably the x64 version. You'll have to copy these into the DBFZ game files in Steam> steamapps> common> DRAGON BALL FighterZ or where you have it installed.

Install x360ce and use it

After downloading the rar, extract it into the same folder as the main executable of the game.
Steam> steamapps> common> DRAGON BALL FighterZ> RED> Bins> Win64

After extracting, open x360ce and select the controller you are using at the top.
Next, go to Controller Settings and download the top option of the Most Popular Settings for My Controllers.
Now you can go to controller 1 or 2 and press the Auto button at the bottom right.
Fix anything that is not correct and remember DO NOT closing the program, closing it will terminate the emulation and your controls will not work.
Now you will see that both controllers work as intended and you can play freely.
When you restart the emulator, remember to press Auto again to make sure the emulator works as expected, as it is a bit inconsistent if you don't.
You don't have to do anything different when using an arcade controller or anything like that, it's exactly the same for any controller, so you can play with whatever you want, and they won't prohibit you from doing this either.
Do not try to configure a controller in Steam Big Picture because that's basura and it doesn't work either.
