Konami could have some surprises for fans of its more classic and beloved franchises, as independent developers could take the reins of titles like Castlevania, Silent Hill y Rocket Knight In the near future.

The company's first foray into this business is GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon, a successor to the forgotten franchise of Famicom. The game is being developed by an independent studio called GuruGuru, relatively new in the sector. The roguelite hack-and-slash has been released as an early access title on Steam and it's coming out on Switch sometime next year.

Speaking to JP Games, the leading producer of GetsuFumaDen, Shin murato, has declared:

"We believe GetsuFumaDen It would be an interesting IP to follow this indie approach again, so we decided to contact GuruGuru as we know the team well. "

After praising the team for its "new approaches to graphic design", murate said:

"Expect more announcements like this soon"

New Castlevania o Silent Hill in charge of a talented indie studio is an idea that many of us could dream of.

SEGA, the rival of Konami, has done a remarkable job licensing its old franchises to independent studios in recent years. The acclaimed Streets of Rage 4 came to consoles and PC thanks to dotemu, Lizardcube y Guard Crush Games. The company also gave several independent studios the keys to one of its most important intellectual properties, Sonic the hedgehog, and the result was possibly the best game of the series, Sonic Mania.

Dreaming is free, hopefully we will have more news about it soon.
