Valheim is the new sensation in Steam. This game has a huge world to explore and in which a number of creatures and animals live that are likely to make your life somewhat more complicated than it should be at first. The objective of the game is to defeat a series of bosses, but we already tell you to forget about that since the first thing you have to do in Valheim is learning to survive.

In this guide you will find a series of tips and tricks for beginners in Valheim.

First objective, build a shelter

You don't need to reinvent the survival games wheel to survive in Valheim. The best way to start is to find some flat land in the Prairie region, set up a workbench, put up some walls, and build a bed. Can you do todor this by making a hammer and cutting down nearby trees to get wood. With a few walls around you and a comfortable bed, you can rest when night falls, the creatures become more dangerous and it gets much colder.

Do not forget that you need to have a fire inside your house to keep you warm during the night, so do not forget to make a window or a fireplace so that the smoke can escape outside.

Grow food and hunt animals

There are three sources of meat available at the beginning of the game: deer, boars y nixes.

The nixes are small reptile-like creatures. When they die, they drop their tails to the ground and you can cook them. The boars, when you get too close they will pounce on you and become aggressive. Although you can tame them, it can take bastahead of time, so we recommend killing them directly and harvesting them to get their meat and leather remains. The deer they are the scariest. They run away from you when you get close, so you have to use a bow or spear to kill them from a distance. There are also mushrooms, raspberries y blueberries that you can pick up off the ground to fill your belly in an emergency.

En Valheimyou can only eat three things at the same time. Everything you eat gives you a certain amount of health and stamina. Having food ready and on hand is highly recommended. You can see what you have on your stomach by looking to the left of your exit bar at the bottom left of the screen.

You cannot eat two things of the same type of meat consecutively, but you can eat a lizard tail meat and a normal one. You can have a raspberry bar and a blueberry bar, but not two blueberries. Meat will give you the Superior Health and Stamina bonuses.

Make chests and store wood as soon as possible

Chests are an element that you will want to create as soon as possible in your house, since you will only have the space in your inventory when you start your game. If you carry too many things and exceed 300 maximum pso, your character will barely move or regenerate.

Es VERY IMPORTANT create several chests at the beginning of the game to store your wood, stone and todthe resources that you do not need to carry with you.

Another essential tip when you start your game is to collect todTake whatever resources you can while exploring as you are sure to need them at some point.

Defeating the first boss is important

The first boss of the game is eikthyr. When you've made a home, gathered some food, and have plenty of resources, head out to face the Eikthyr. It is not too difficult a fight. You need to have at least two deer trophies to summon him on his altar, and when he appears, he will be in the form of a large moose with thunderbolt horns. We recommend fighting from a distance with a bow or throwing spears at them.

Once defeated, he will drop his trophy, which you can take to the circle at the beginning of the game, and hardened antlers. When you pick up the hardened antlers, you will learn how to create the antler pick, and you can use that pick to collect copper and tin. These are great starting resources that are the springboard for creating bronze weapons, armor, and tools. You don't need to be in a hurry to craft bronze weapons, but having the pickaxe now will make your life much easier later on.

Expand and create outposts

Valheim It is huge and has a lot of endless lands for you to explore. As it is so big, we highly recommend that you find some ruins and abandoned houses and settle there. You can put a workbench, a bed, fix the ceiling and walls, and designate it as outpost. It doesn't have to have todor what your original house has, but it's a good way to encourage exploration, and you won't find yourself getting a certain distance before having to run back to your house to sleep, just before darkness hits. Over time, you will learn how to create portals, and you will be able to configure them to connect to one at your main base, making the fast travel be a reality.
